Jorge Gonzalez Seriously Injured in Joshua Tree Motorcycle Accident on Twentynine Palms Highway and El Reposo Circle
Jorge Gonzalez ID’d as Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Traffic Crash on Twentynine Palms Highway and El Reposo Circle in Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree, California (October 17, 2019) – Authorities have identified Jorge Gonzalez, 25, of National City, as the motorcyclist who was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a traffic accident at an intersection in Joshua Tree.
The crash happened at about 4:55 p.m. Monday, October 14 on Twentynine Palms Highway and El Reposo Circle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Nissan Sentra driven by Aram Barnakian, 64, of Joshua Tree, was traveling northbound on El Reposo Circle and stopped at the intersection with Twentynine Palms Highway.
Barnakian then started to cross the highway. As he did, Gonzalez approached on a red Honda CBR motorcycle traveling eastbound on Twentynine Palms Highway.
Both drivers took evasive action in an attempt to avoid a collision, but the Nissan hit the right side of the Honda motorcycle.
Gonzalez was ejected from the bike upon the impact. He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Barnakian suffered possible minor injuries and was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center.
Authorities said the Nissan sustained moderate damage on the front bumper and hood while Honda motorcycle had major damage along the right side.
All parties involved in the wreck were using the required safety equipment.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
