John Ku Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Del Puerto Canyon Road in Patterson
John Ku ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Patterson Crash on Del Puerto Canyon Road near Diablo Grande Parkway
Patterson, California (January 19, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died in a traffic accident Sunday morning in Patterson as John Ku, 49, of San Jose.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:30 a.m., on January 17, on Del Puerto Canyon Road, just west of Diablo Grande Parkway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Ku was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Del Puerto Canyon Road and was approaching a right bend in the roadway when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the bike and crossed over into the opposite lane.
The motorcycle then veered off the north shoulder of the road and crashed into a metal pole fence.
Rider Killed Crash on Del Puerto Canyon Road
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Ku lying down on the north shoulder of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ku was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Drugs or alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
