Modesto, California (November 20, 2020) – John Deathriage-Walton, 27, of Ripon, has been identified as one of the two persons who were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday night in Modesto, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal car crash happened at about 7 p.m. on November 18, at McHenry Avenue and Claribel Road.

Deathriage-Walton was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on McHenry when he ran the red light at Claribel Road and was broadsided by a westbound Lexus SUV driven by 46-year-old Huda Gubary of Salida.

The crash impact pushed both the Nissan and the Lexus into three other vehicles that were waiting at a red light.

John Deathriage-Walton Killed in Crash at McHenry Avenue and Claribel Road 

Deathriage-Walton suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

A passenger in the Altima, Krystal Mobley, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gubary was hospitalized with major injuries.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
