Humboldt County, California (December 6, 2019) – John Bare, 59, of Santa Rosa, has been identified as the driver who was killed in a fatal two-vehicle accident that occurred last Wednesday afternoon near Miranda in Humboldt County, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at around 12:50 p.m. November 27, on US 101 south of Salmon Creek Road.

According to the report, Bare was driving an SUV southbound on US 101 when he drifted into the northbound side and collided with an oncoming Ford Excursion.

Bare was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger was transported to St. Joseph Hospital by City Ambulance with major injuries.

The driver of the Ford suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Jerold Phelps Hospital.

The crash caused a closure of US 101 for nearly two hours as the scene was examined and cleared.

The crash is under investigation by the CHP.
