Jimmy Dickerson Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 46 in San Luis Obispo County
Jimmy Dickerson Hospitalized after San Luis Obispo County Accident on Highway 46 and Highway 41

San Luis Obispo County, California (October 27, 2020) – Jimmy Dickerson, 50, of Morro Bay, was among three people who were injured Sunday night in an alleged DUI crash near the Cholame ‘Y’ in San Luis Obispo County, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 25, on Highway 46 and Highway 41.
As per the CHP report, Fidel Martinez Lopez, 70, of San Miguel, was driving his 1997 Ford F-150 eastbound at an unknown speed when he tried to turn left onto northbound Highway 41 at the Cholame Y and collided head-on with a 2008 Jeep Wrangler that was heading westbound on Highway 46 at about 55 miles per hour.
The force of the impact caused the Jeep to spin to the right shoulder of Highway 46.
Dickerson, who was the driver of the Jeep, sustained moderate injuries while his passenger, Kimberly Valois, 57, suffered minor injuries. Both patients were taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for treatment.
Lopez sustained major injuries and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.
Authorities determined that Lopez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
