Jessica Mauldin, 36, Injured in Fatal Shasta County Crash on Highway 44 at Airport Way
Shasta County, California (March 24, 2019) – A woman from Susanville was hospitalized after a fatal crash that left one person dead near Shingletown on Saturday afternoon.
According to the CHP, the crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. March 23, on Highway 44 at Airport Way.
CHP said a Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Wyatt William Coble, 24, of Shingletown, was traveling eastbound on Highway 44 when he drifted into the westbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Ford Explorer.
A passenger in the Jetta, only identified as a 29-year-old man from Shingletown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Jessica Erin Mauldin, 36, of Susanville, was transported to a hospital with major injuries. Her passenger, a 6-year-old, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Coble sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released.
The CHP is conducting an investigation to find out the cause of the crash.
