Jerardo Cortes Arrested after Visalia Crash at Ben Maddox Way and Goshen Avenue in Visalia
Visalia, California (March 24, 2019) – A driver was arrested following a two-vehicle collision that left a family of three nursing injuries late Saturday night in Visalia.
According to the Visalia Police Department, the wreck was reported at about 11:30 p.m. March 23, at Ben Maddox Way and Goshen Avenue.
Police said Jerardo Cortes, 23, of Visalia, was driving a Chevy Camaro when he, for unknown reasons, rear-ended a Jeep Patriot carrying a family of three at the intersection.
The driver of the Jeep, Rose Menera, 28, and her two passengers, Marco Menera, 27, and a 3-year-old girl, all from Fresno, were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries.
Jerardo Cortes Arrested after Visalia DUI Accident
Cortes was suspected to be under influence. He was arrested and booked into Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of drunk driving causing injury.
The accident is under investigation.
