Jennifer Cortez ID’d as Woman Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash on Panama Lane near South Allen Road
Bakersfield, California (February 17, 2021) – The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who died following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Wednesday morning in Bakersfield as Jennifer Cortez, 31, of Bakersfield.
The deadly crash was reported at about 12:21 a.m. on Panama Lane, just west of South Allen Road.
Authorities said Cortez was driving westbound on Panama Lane when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of her vehicle, which veered off the road and rolled over.
Deadly Car Accident on Panama Lane in Bakersfield
Cortez died at the scene of the accident. A child who was in the backseat of the car was unhurt but was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
It remains unclear if speed was a factor in the accident.
No additional information about the crash was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
