Soulsbyville, California (February 23, 2021) – A man was hospitalized after beings struck by a vehicle in Soulsbyville, Sonora County, on Monday morning.

The pedestrian accident was reported at about 11 a.m. in the area of Highway 108 and Draper Mine Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jeffrey Traill, 68 of Soulsbyville, was walking in the area when he was struck by a 2013 Chevy Silverado pickup truck that had just pulled forward from a parking spot in front of two businesses.

The vehicle also crashed into a building after hitting the pedestrian.

Traill sustained major but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The condition of the truck driver, Norbert Johnson, 74 of Columbia, was not immediately established.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
