Jeffrey Ortberg Killed in Motorcycle Accident on 57 Freeway in Brea

Brea, California (January 21, 2019) – The Orange County coroner’s office has identified the motorcyclist who was killed  Saturday evening in a traffic accident on the 57 Freeway in Brea as Jeffrey Ortberg, 58, of Hesperia.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly wreck was reported at around 5:42 p.m. Saturday, January 19 on the northbound Orange Freeway at the eastbound Imperial (90) Highway on-ramp.

The CHP said a motorcycle ridden by Ortberg, collided with a vehicle for an unknown reason.

Ortberg died in the crash.

As of 5:54 p.m. a SigAlert was issued for all northbound lanes, just south of Imperial Highway and traffic was diverted at Yorba Linda Boulevard.

The CHP said all lanes were reopened at around 7:55 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
