Javier Jimenez Jr. ID’d as Construction Worker Killed in Anaheim Accident
Anaheim, California (August 30, 2019) – The construction worker who was hit and killed by a steel plate while working around a trench Thursday morning in Anaheim has been identified as Javier Jimenez Jr., 38.
The deadly accident happened at Disneyland Thursday, August 29.
Authorities said Jimenez was working around a trench when a piece of equipment accidentally struck a cross beam. The cross beam knocked down a large steel plate, which fell and hit him.
Jimenez was transported to UC Irvine hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He worked for a contractor at Disneyland.
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the accident.
