Jasper Eerkens Seriously Injured in Solano County DUI Accident on Tremont Road near Bulkley Road

Solano County, California (April 20, 2021) – Jasper Eerkens, a junior at Davis High School, was injured after being involved in a deadly car accident in rural Solano County, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly single-vehicle crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, on Tremont Road, just east of Bulkley Road. The rural area is northeast of Dixon and south of Davis.
According to the CHP report, Ayush Shrestha, 18, was driving a black Ford Mustang eastbound on Tremont Road at a high rate of speed when he made unsafe turning movement and drifted off the roadway.
The Mustang reportedly veered into a field and rolled over before coming to a stop nearly 40 feet off the road.
Deadly Car Accident on Tremont Road in Solano County
As the Mustang was overturning, Shrestha and the right-back passenger, Eerkens, were ejected. Both were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, the CHP said.
According to the CHP, Shrestha was declared dead at the scene while Eerkens was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries.
Two other passengers, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, were transported to Kaiser Vacaville with major injuries.
The CHP believed intoxication played a role in the Solano County collision.
