Escondido, California (November 29, 2019) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that led to the death of a bicyclist on Saturday morning in Escondido.
According to police, the deadly crash happened at about 11:52 a.m. November 23, in the 1600 block of La Honda Drive.
Police said Kevin Lentz, 36, of Vista was riding a bike southbound on La Honda Drive when he was hit head-on by a dark-colored Toyota sedan.
The driver of the sedan fled the scene after the incident.
Lentz died as a result of the collision.

The sedan was located in the 600 block of Aster Street.
Police on Thursday arrested Jamison Connor, 41, at 9:20 a.m. on a parole warrant from other charges. Connor is suspected to be the driver who fled the scene after the crash that killed Lentz on Saturday.
The crash remains under investigation.
