Israel Rodrigues Suffers Major Injuries in Lakeville Collision on Old Adobe Road near Stage Gulch Road
Lakeville, California (July 22, 2021) – Israel Montanez Rodrigues, 51, of Napa, was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a deadly car crash in Lakeville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 on Old Adobe Road, just west of Stage Gulch Road.
The CHP said a Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Arnold Riebli, 78, of Sonoma, and a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Rodrigues, were traveling eastbound on Old Adobe Road when, for unknown reasons, the Colorado rear-ended the Silverado.
The force of the impact pushed the Silverado into the westbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Volt.
1 Dead, 3 Hurt in Lakeville Crash
A woman who was a passenger in the Volt died at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Rodrigues and the driver of the Volt were airlifted to a hospital with major injuries. Riebli had minor injuries and was hospitalized.
The collision prompted the officers to temporarily close Old Adobe Road for over three hours during the investigation. As of 8:00 p.m., the road was reopened.
Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
