Ismael Martinez-Huertas Killed in Riverbank Garbage Truck Accident on Homewood Way
Ismael Martinez-Huertas ID’d as Sanitation Worker Killed in Riverbank Work Accident on Homewood Way near Donner Trail
Riverbank, California (August 27, 2019) –The sanitation worker who died after he was crushed by the mechanical arm of his garbage truck Monday afternoon in Riverbank has been identified as Ismael Martinez-Huertas, of Gilton.
The deadly accident happened at around 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 26 on Homewood Way near Donner Trail.
Authorities said Martinez-Huertas was on the job on Homewood Way when he was crushed by the arm that grabs the garbage cans.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on Martinez-Huertas. Despite life-saving measures, Ismael Martinez-Huertas later succumbed to his injuries.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
