Pedestrian Severely Injured in Irvine Accident at Von Karman Avenue and Morse Avenue
Irvine, California (December 18, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a major pedestrian accident that happened on Monday afternoon in the area of Irvine.
The major crash occurred at about 4:35 p.m. Monday, December 16, at Von Karman Avenue and Morse Avenue.
As per the CHP officials, a white pickup was heading south on Von Karman Avenue, just north of Morse Avenue when for reasons still under investigation, it veered across lanes and hit a pedestrian who was walking on a sidewalk near the junction.
The pickup continued driving over a berm and into a parking lot and came into a stop against a black pickup truck and a Alfa Romeo SUV.
Responding emergency crews attended to the pedestrian who suffered critical injuries following the collision. The victim was flown to a local trauma center and was listed in a critical condition. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately provided.
The pickup driver was transported to an area hospital and was listed in a fair condition.
Authorities blocked all lanes of Von Karman Avenue between Morse Avenue and Main Street following the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
