Woman Seriously Injured in Irvine Car Accident on 55 Freeway near 405 Freeway
Irvine, California (February 28, 2019) – A was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Irvine, according to a local news source.
The crash, which was reported at about 12:46 p.m. Saturday, February 28, happened on the 55 Freeway, just north of Interstate 405 Freeway.
As per the report, a sedan driven by a woman believed to be around 25-year-old was traveling against the freeway guardrail when it passed through transition lanes from the 405 Freeway and struck an SUV.
Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the sedan who was trapped inside the wrecked vehicle.
The paramedics then treated the woman before being taken to a local hospital where she was listed in a serious but stable condition. Her name has not been disclosed.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were not injured in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
