Inglewood, California (February 10, 2021) – A female pedestrian was hit and killed by vehicles Tuesday night in Inglewood, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m., on February 9, on Harbor Freeway near Manchester Avenue exit.

As per the official’s report, the woman, for undetermined reasons, ran into the southbound lanes of the freeway where she was struck by a Toyota Prius, followed by a Honda Civic and a Ford Escape. 

Fatal Inglewood Pedestrian Crash

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

It was not clear if intoxication played a role in the mishap

A SigAlert was issued for the number 3, 4, and 5 lanes of the freeway, south of Manchester Avenue, and the Manchester Avenue on-ramp was blocked. The roadways were reopened at about 1 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
