Long Beach, California (June 5, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed in a Friday morning crash involving a big rig in Long Beach has been identified as Hugo Gonzalez Martinez, 25, of Long Beach, according to the authorities.

The accident happened at around 9:10 a.m. June 4, on eastbound 91 Freeway at the Cherry Avenue off-ramp.

The California Highway Patrol said Martinez was riding a motorcycle when he was ejected onto the roadway and rolled into the number three lane, where he was hit by a 2011 Freightliner.

Martinez died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the big rig was uninjured.

The accident is under investigation.
