Hayward Accident on 880 Freeway near Whipple Road Possibly Resulted in Injuries
Hayward, California (November 24, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on an interstate in Hayward Tuesday morning.
The CHP responded to the crash site at about 10:55 a.m. on the Interstate 880 Freeway just north of Whipple Road.
It was not immediately established what led to the collision of a blue Toyota 4 Runner SUV, a Mini Cooper, a Honda Pilot, a beige Toyota Sienna and a Honda sedan in the morning hours.
Due to the impact, the blue Mini Cooper acquired moderate front and rear damage while the Toyota Sienna had major front-end damage. The Toyota SUV reportedly acquired moderate rear-end damage following the mishap.
Hayward Multi-Vehicle on Interstate 880 Freeway
All involved parties were attended to by medical personnel who responded to the scene shortly after the wreck.
Officials requested a tow truck to remove the wrecked vehicle away from the scene.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
