At Least 1 Hurt in Hayward Car Crash on Interstate 880 near Highway 92 Connector
Hayward, California (April 13, 2021) – At least one person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Monday afternoon in Hayward, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At around 12:22 p.m., four vehicles collided on northbound Interstate 880, just south of the Highway 92 connector.
The vehicles included a Nissan Pathfinder, a silver Toyota Camry, a white Chevrolet Express van, and another unidentified car.
One of the vehicles reportedly overturned several times and came to rest on its wheels.
One of the drivers involved reported that her sister was bleeding from the head and that they were both out of their vehicle.
Hayward firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to help the victims. The responders said the crash resulted in minor injuries. It was, however, not clear if anyone was hospitalized.
Some traffic lanes remained closed for an unknown duration following the accident.
An investigation into the pileup is underway.
