Gustavo Blanco Arrested after Fatal Fresno Car Crash on Kings Canyon Road and Maple Avenue
Fresno, California (July 22, 2019) – A driver was arrested after a suspected DUI crash that left one man dead on Saturday night in southeast Fresno, according to Fresno police.
The crash took place at Kings Canyon Road and Maple Avenue on Saturday, July 20.
Police said a car traveling southbound on Maple Avenue collided with a vehicle heading west on Kings Canyon Road. The driver of the westbound vehicle allegedly ran a red light, leading to the collision.
The driver of the southbound car was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger was hospitalized with major injuries.

Blanco, who was operating the second vehicle, was also severely injured in the crash.
Police later arrested Blanco and booked him into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
The Fresno Police Department is investigating the incident.
