56-Year-Old Salinas Woman Dies after Greenfield Pedestrian Accident on Arroyo Seco Road near Thorne Road

Greenfield, California (March 18, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a deadly pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a 56-year-old Salinas woman on Tuesday morning in Greenfield.
The fatal crash happened on Arroyo Seco Road, north of Thorne Road at around 7:00 a.m., March 17.
As per the CHP officials, a driver was heading northbound on Arroyo Seco Road and was heading towards a location where three farm labor buses were offloading farmworkers on the southbound lanes. It was reported that the workers crossed the from west to the east side of the road. The driver reportedly slowed down and was driving at a speed of approximately 30 to 35 miles per hour as she drove past the buses.
Officials said that as the driver passed the buses, the Salinas woman walked between the two buses and into the path of the car and she was hit by the vehicle.
Deadly Pedestrian Crash Claims Woman’s Life in Greenfield
Responding firefighters declared the woman dead at the crash site. Her name was not immediately released.
The involved driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with officials.
