Shannon Jordan Injured in Fatal Auburn Accident on Highway 49 near Joeger Road

Auburn, California (December 9, 2019) – Shannon Jordan, 39, of Grass Valley was injured in a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Friday evening in Auburn, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on Highway 49 near Joeger Road on Friday, December 6.
Authorities said a 55-year-old Grass Valley woman was driving a black 1996 Lexus southbound on Highway 49 at a high rate of speed when the vehicle’s right back tire rim started to emit sparks. The Lexus then drifted into the northbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Hyundai Sonata driven by Shannon Jordan, 39, of Grass Valley.
The Lexus then rotated clockwise and collided with a northbound Toyota 4Runner operated by Michelle Tompkins, 31, of Grass Valley.
The impact of the second collision ejected the driver of the Lexus from her vehicle.

Jordan sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
The driver of the Lexus was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Tompkins was not injured.
The CHP is investigating to determine the crash.
