56-Year-Old Woman Killed, 1 Injured in Grass Valley Crash on Highway 49 near Cerrito Road
Grass Valley, California (January 1, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday night multi-vehicle accident that killed a 56-year-old woman from Grass Valley and left another person injured in Grass Valley.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:11 p.m., on December 31, on Highway 49, north of Cerrito Road
According to the officials, a 35-foot motorhome, driven by Raymond Poquette, 80, of Grass Valley, was headed southbound on the highway.
Poquette then crossed into the northbound lane where he collided head-on with a Nissan Altima operated by the 56-year-old woman.
Poquette’s motorhome also crashed into a 2010 Dodge Charger that was traveling behind the Nissan.

Sadly, the 56-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The Dodges driver suffered minor injuries.
A joint investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies in Nevada County resulted in Poquette’s arrest. Poquette was booked into Nevada County Jail Friday afternoon on one count of murder.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
