Gilroy, California (December 7, 2020) – A pedestrian was seriously after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday morning in the Westside neighborhood in Gilroy, according to a local news source.

A little after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 6, emergency personnel responded to the area of Broadway and Wayland Lane for a report of a pedestrian accident.

Authorities said the pedestrian, a 48-year-old man, was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and Wayland Lane for unknown reasons.

Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Traffic Collision in Gilroy

First responders arrived at the location and found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. His name and current condition were not diclosed.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s car or the driver.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
