Gilbert Marquez ID’d as Brawley Man Killed in Calipatria Collision on Highway 115 and East Albright Road
Calipatria, California (June 29, 2021) – The 60-year-old man from Brawley who was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash involving a suspected DUI driver near Calipatria has been identified as Gilbert Marquez, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at around 4:00 p.m. June 27, on Highway 115 and East Albright Road.
According to the CHP, a Ford F-250 pickup driven by Marquez was broadsided by a vehicle driven by a Shefner Larnell Moore, 54, of Brawley.
The Ford overturned several times, ejecting Marquez, before landing upright.

Sadly, Marquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moore was also injured in the accident and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
According to the report, intoxication was suspected to be a factor in the accident and Moore was arrested on charges of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The investigation is ongoing.
