Geronimo Gonzalez Critically Injured in Porterville Car Crash; Mohamed Mohamed Arrested

Tulare County, California (April 12, 2019) – One person was critically injured early Monday morning in an alleged DUI crash in Porterville, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened Monday, April 8. The exact scene and time of the accident were not mentioned in the report.
As per the report, Mohamed Mohamed, 22, was driving a BMW when he ran a red light and barreled down a private dirt path.
The BMW then crashed into a parked truck and its owner, Geronimo Gonzalez, 34, of Porterville, who was standing next to it. The force of the impact sent Gonzalez flying into the air.

Gonzalez was airlifted to a hospital in Fresno, where he underwent several surgeries and was in critical condition.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Mohamed fled the scene after the crash but was caught hiding at his home behind a gas station, just a block away from the scene of the accident.
The report says Mohamed was charged with a DUI in Kern County just last month and has received four traffic tickets in Tulare County since the summer of 2017.
The crash remains under investigation.
