Gary Vroman and Ambe Hernandez Hurt in Yolo Car Accident on I-5 near County Road 17
Yolo, California (January 28, 2019) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision early Monday morning near Yolo, according to the CHP.
The incident happened on southbound Interstate 5, just south of County Road 17.
CHP said a 1997 Nissan was heading south on I-5 with slow speed due to a flat tire and was rear-ended by a 2018 Nissan.
The driver of the 1997 Nissan, Gary Lee Vroman, 79, of Sacramento, sustained major injuries in the crash. He was transported to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
One occupant of the 2018 Nissan, identified as Ambe Hernandez, 28, of Millville, was also hurt in the crash. No details were provided on the extent of her injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
