Garrett Pontier Dies after Hesperia Crash on 15 Freeway near Main Street Off-Ramp
Hesperia, California (April 2, 2020) – The man who was killed in a traffic collision involving two vehicles Tuesday morning has been identified as Garrett Pontier, 21, of Apple Valley, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash occurred at about 1:35 a.m. March 31, on 15 Freeway, just north of the Main Street off-ramp.
Pontier was driving a silver 2003 Honda Accord when he crashed into the back of a white tractor-trailer on the northbound side of the freeway.
The sedan was crushed underneath the trailer upon the impact. Pontier was pinned in the wreckage.

Authorities said Pontier was declared dead shortly after being extricated from the wreckage by firefighters.
A 21-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man who was a passenger in the Accord was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
