Friant, California (March 13, 2020) – Four people were killed, and two others hurt following a head-on collision that happened early on Friday morning in Friant, a local news source reported.

The fatal crash took place at around 1:30 a.m. in the area of Millerton Road Via Bellaggio.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, a Nissan pickup collided head-on with a Toyota sedan at the intersection near the Millerton Lake.

The primary report showed that the pickup truck was traveling northbound when it drifted into the wrong lane and struck the Toyota.

Four people, including the Nissan pickup truck driver, were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel who responded shortly after the wreck. The other deceased parties were passengers in the backseat of the Toyota.

Another passenger riding in the sedan was rushed to the hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of unspecified injuries. The driver was also airlifted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the identities of both the deceased and the wounded victims have not yet been released to this time.

The wreck resulted in the closure of Millerton Road between Auberry Road and North Fork Road for several hours.

The CHP is still investigating to identify the cause of the accident.
