73-Year-Old Woman Dies after Fresno Crash at Academy Avenue and Sierra Avenue
Fresno, California (December 8, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Monday night bicycle accident that killed a 73-year-old woman in Fresno.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:15 p.m., on December 7, at Academy Avenue and Sierra Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was riding her bicycle along the right shoulder of northbound Academy Avenue when, for unknown reasons, she veered left into the northbound lane of Academy Avenue.
Unfortunately, the woman was struck by a Toyota Sequoia pickup, driven by a 40-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the woman was ejected onto the roadway, the officials said.

The woman was flown to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
