Fresno, California (March 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday evening at a Fresno intersection, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident occurred at around 7:10 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the intersection of Grove and Elm avenues.

According to the authorities, a woman was walking across the road and was outside a crosswalk when a vehicle hit her.

The woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene.

The involved driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene after the accident.  The suspect’s vehicle was described as a 2015 to 2020 Kia Optima with possible major front-end damage.

Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
