Fresno, California (February 17, 2019) – One man was killed and two children were injured Sunday night in a traffic accident in Fresno, police said.

The deadly crash was reported at about 7:00 p.m. on Chestnut Avenue, just south of Church Avenue and involved three vehicles.

First responders arrived at the scene and they found three vehicles. According to investigators, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling along with a second vehicle, a Toyota sedan, when the accident happened. The third vehicle was carrying three people, a 10-year-old girl and her grandparents.

The force of the impact caused the Jeep Cherokee to overturn.

One of the passengers in the Jeep was declared dead at the scene while two other juvenile passengers were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in stable and good condition. Their names have not been disclosed.

All occupants of the third vehicle were not injured.

According to police, the Toyota driver was under investigation for possible drunken driving.

Police are investigating the crash.
