2 Killed in Fresno Crash on Highway 180 near McCall Avenue
Fresno, California (February 4, 2019) – Two people were killed after a multi-vehicle collision Monday evening in Fresno, according to a local news source.
The deadly collision happened at about 5:00 p.m. Monday, on Highway 180 near McCall Avenue.
As per the report, a driver in a 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck turned from DeWolf Avenue onto Highway 180 and drove east in the westbound lanes.
The wrong-way motorist then crashed into five cars before crashing head-on into a Dodge Ram pickup truck. Both the wrong-way driver and the Dodge driver were killed in the violent collision.
The names of the deceased persons were not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Officials said that the occupants of the other cars suffered minor to moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
