Fresno, California (December 3, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a high-speed crash involving a semi that happened Tuesday morning in Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision took place at about 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Golden State Boulevard and Chestnut Avenue.

CHP said a driver of a Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed in the fog and crashed into a big rig.

The Honda’s roof was sheared off the car in the crash.

One person was transported to a hospital with major injuries.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
