Fremont, California (April 18, 2021) – A motorcyclist died after being involved in a traffic collision Saturday morning on a highway in Fremont, the California Highway Patrol reported.

At around 8:32 a.m., authorities received reports of a rider lying unresponsive in the lane No. 1 of eastbound Highway 84, just west of Thornton Avenue off-ramp after the crash.

Emergency crews responding to the scene determined that the rider was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they collided with another vehicle, possibly a Ford pickup truck, under unclear circumstances.

The rider suffered major injuries and died in the accident.

The report did not mention whether the occupants of the other vehicle were injured or not.

Authorities are collecting more information to establish the cause of the collision.
