Fremont, California (May 21, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic collision that transpired Friday evening on a freeway in Fremont, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at around 6:36 p.m. on southbound 880 Freeway, just south of Stevenson Boulevard on-ramp.

CHP said a motorcycle and a black BMW collided for unknown reasons.

The male motorcyclist was thrown from the bike onto the roadway after the impact.

First responders found the rider with major injuries and bleeding from his face. An ambulance was requested to the scene to take the patient to the hospital.

No other details about the incident were available.

CHP is investigating the accident.
