2 Injured in Fremont Horrific Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 880
Fremont, California (September 4, 2019) – Two people were transported to the hospital after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Fremont on Wednesday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision was reported at about 5:21 a.m. September 4, on Highway 880, near the Auto Mall Parkway exit.
As per the CHP report, the accident involved a total of eight-vehicles which collided for unknown reasons. Due to the impact, a car was trapped underneath a van.
Two victims were transported to the hospital after the crash. The initial report indicated that one person sustained major injuries following the collision. The current condition and the names of the injured parties have not yet been released to this time.
The crash resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes up to around 7:00 a.m. as authorities cleared debris from the eight-vehicle pileup.
The crash remains under investigation.
