Alameda, California (June 28, 2021) – 87-year-old Fred Zehnder has been identified as the male party who was struck and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Alameda Sunday night.
The DUI fatal pedestrian accident happened in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Walnut Street at around 10:00 p.m. on June 27.
Zehnder was struck by an eastbound Ford F150 while walking at the Alameda intersection in a crosswalk.

Fred, who was a former KTVU news director, was declared dead at the crash site.
The involved male motorist remained at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
