Tustin, California (February 23, 2021) – Esperanza Cruz, 24, of Anaheim, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Tuesday morning traffic accident in Tustin
The deadly accident occurred just before 2:10 a.m., February 23, on 55 Freeway near the connector with the Interstate 5 Freeway
According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW sedan, driven by Anthony Robles, 27, of Rowland Heights, was headed southbound on the freeway when it rear-ended a Lexus SUV.
As a result of the crash impact, the Lexus SUV reportedly overturned.

Cruz, who was a passenger in the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Lexus, a 22-year-old Newport Beach woman, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Robles was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to a hospital for minor injuries, the CHP said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
