Man Struck and Seriously Hurt by Hit-and-Run Driver on Ash Street

Escondido, California (July 16, 2019) – A 28-year-old man was severely hurt after an alleged hit-and-run collision Monday night in the area of Escondido, according to a local news source.

The major pedestrian accident happened at around 10:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, just north of Pennsylvania Avenue, near the backside of the Escondido Village strip mall.

As per the report, a vehicle was traveling north on Ash Street and had just passed Pennsylvania Avenue, when it struck a 28-year-old man for reasons still under investigation.

Escondido Fire Department officials along with medical personnel arrived at the scene and attended to the pedestrian who suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. The male victim was rushed to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.

The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately known.

Authorities affirmed that the involved driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect was described as a woman driving a dark gray compact car.
