Erik Cruz Seriously Injured in Car Accident on Claribel Road in Modesto
Erik Cruz ID’d as 20-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Modesto Car Accident on Claribel Road near Claus Road
Modesto, California (September 28, 2020) – Erik Acevedo Cruz, 20, of Modesto, has been identified as the man who was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Modesto, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 1:00 p.m. on Claribel Road, just east of Claus Road.
According to the CHP, a 2016 Infiniti sedan, driven by Cruz, was driving eastbound on Claribel Road when it lost control, drifted off the roadway, and crashed into a tree.
The roadway was marked on both sides with a speed limit of 25 mph because it was being resurfaced with chip seal. Cruz was allegedly driving more than the posted 25 mph.

Cruz suffered head injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical Center for treatment.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
