Merced County, California (November 25, 2020) – Erick Reyes-Flores, 34, of Chowchilla, has been identified as the man who was killed in a rollover accident on Sunday morning in Merced County, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.

At about 8:20 a.m. on November 22, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly single-vehicle accident on Sandy Mush Road just east of Healy Road.

The CHP said an older model Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on Sandy Mush Road when it drifted off the roadway and overturned multiple times.

Following the collision, both Reyes-Flores and a passenger, a 41-year-old Merced woman, were ejected onto the roadway, the officials said.

Sadly, Reyes-Flores, who was believed to be the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 41-year-old Merced woman sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
