Enrique Flores ID’d as Man Killed in San Diego Accident on Interstate 8 near College Avenue
San Diego, California (November 11, 2020) – The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died in a traffic accident last week Sunday in San Diego as Enrique Damian Flores, 24, of El Cajon.
The deadly crash happened at around 1:56 a.m. Sunday, November 1, on Interstate 8, just west of College Avenue.
Authorities said Flores was driving westbound on Interstate 8 when, for undetermined reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and hit a concrete barrier wall.
The vehicle then rolled over and stopped in a travel lane. The driver of another vehicle heading westbound on Interstate 8 failed to see Flores’s disabled vehicle and slammed into it.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated Flores, who was trapped in the wreckage. He was then taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
