Man Killed in Encinitas Train Accident near East J Street
Encinitas, California (April 24, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a train on Tuesday night in Encinitas.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. April 23, on the railroad tracks near East J Street.
Deputies said a man apparently walked into the tracks and was struck by an Amtrak train traveling southbound at approximately 57 mph.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The sheriff’s department is investigating the crash.
