Encinitas, CA: Multiple Injuries in 2-Vehicle Crash on Manchester Avenue

Encinitas, California (January 20, 2019) – A two-vehicle collision left four people injured early Saturday morning in North County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at about 3 a.m. January 19 on Manchester Avenue in Encinitas.

CHP said a white sedan pulled over to the side of the roadway to let a female passenger vomit. Shortly after, another sedan swerved into the right shoulder and smashed into the stopped vehicle.

Two occupants of the stopped car sustained major injuries and were trapped in the car after the collision. The two and another occupant, who suffered less severe injuries, were all taken to a hospital for treatment.

The woman who crashed into the stopped vehicle was also transported to the hospital for her injuries.

CHP suspect that DUI may have played a role in the accident.

The woman who wanted to vomit was not caught up in the accident and was unhurt.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
