Sacramento, California (September 9, 2020) – A 39-year-old Elk Grove man was killed and two others injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday evening in Sacramento, authorities said.
At about 6:00 p.m., on September 8, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident on southbound Interstate 5 at Florin Road.
The CHP said a big rig failed to slow down as it approached slower traffic.
The big rig reportedly crashed into ten other vehicles, including a Chrysler 300, driven by the Elk Grove man.

Sadly, the Elk Grove man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other victims were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the collision.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
