Elias Samarripas ID’d as Man Killed in South Bakersfield Accident at Hosking Avenue and Hughes Lane

South Bakersfield, California (November 6, 2020) – The man who was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in South Bakersfield has been identified as Elias Samarripas, 72, according to the Kern County coroner’s office.
The deadly accident happened at around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 in the area of Hosking Avenue and Hughes Lane.
Authorities said a truck, driven by Samarripas, was turning at the intersection of Hosking Avenue and Hughes Lane when, for an unknown reason, it traveled into the path of another truck.
Both vehicles ultimately collided.
Deadly Car Accident in South Bakersfield
Samarripas was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident.
