Elderly Pedestrian Dies Days After Being Hit by Vehicle in San Francisco
85-Year-Old Man Killed in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident at San Jose Avenue and 24th Street

San Francisco, California (January 28, 2021) – An elder pedestrian has succumbed to injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle last week Tuesday in the Mission District neighborhood in San Francisco.
At around 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, the San Francisco police responded to the area of San Jose Avenue and 24th Street for a report of a person hit by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, they found the elderly pedestrian lying down on the roadway.
Authorities determined that the pedestrian, only identified as an 85-year-old man, was walking inside a crosswalk when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in San Francisco
The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. On Saturday, January 23, his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Toyota, a 52-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
Further details about the accident were not immediately given, and the crash remains under investigation.
